iPets: a pet that chats and remembers you

What it is

iPets is a virtual-pet wellness app for iOS and Android, and it is ours: CodaMinds designed it, built it and runs it every day. A pet that chats and remembers you, with a mood that follows your meals, walks and calendar, in rooms and characters drawn by hand. We show it because building an app is half the job. Keeping it running for real users is the other half, and that is the half most owners underestimate.

What it had to do

• Feel alive: a pet with a memory and a mood that changes with the day, not a static screen
• Run the same on iOS and Android, in English and 中文
• Do work while the app is closed: daily routines, reminders and notifications from the back end
• Ship often to testers without breaking what is already installed
