A small studio in Kuala Lumpur that builds and keeps running

Who we are

CodaMinds is a small software studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded and run by Steven Lim, it has been building apps and websites since 2016. We design, build and run landing pages, online shops, business systems, mobile apps and Web3 products for businesses. We work in English, 中文 and Bahasa Melayu, on the page and in our replies.

The person you message is the person who does the work. There are no account managers in between, and no project is handed to a stranger halfway through. We also run a live app with chat, payments and payouts every day. So when your landing page grows into a system, you do not need a new team.

How we work

Every project follows the same five steps. First comes the brief. You tell us what you need, and we reply with questions and a written scope in your language. Next is the fixed quote. We send one price for the agreed scope, and nothing starts before you approve it. Then comes draft approval. We design the real page with your content, you open the draft on your phone, and we revise it until you approve. After that we build and test. You send the final text, photos and links, and we build every language and test on real phones. Last is launch and support. We put it on your domain, hand over everything in your name and stay a message away.

Three rules never change. You get one quote, approved before work starts. There are no hidden fees, because anything outside the scope is quoted first. And you own the domain, hosting and files.

What we have built

Ribbon · ribbon.my · live. A rent-a-local-friend app, web app and website, in English and 中文. We built the mobile app, its web version, the back end with real-time chat and payments, host payouts, admin tools and the marketing site, and we run it every day.

Dilly Deli · mydillydeli.com · site live, shop and console built. A restaurant site, online shop and operator console, in English and 中文. The site takes reservations and queues, the shop handles pickup, delivery and chilled shipping, and the console runs orders, products, stock, customers and reports.

Guidepost · guidepost.komen.now · live. A web app that turns comments on a creator's posts into direct messages. Keyword replies send the guide once per comment, with an inbox of every delivery, a growth page, written reports, workspaces, plans and billing.

HairPlant · hair-plant.com · live. A hair-transplant knowledge page for a clinic, in 中文 and English. One long page with a live hair-strand scene, where readers land on a consultant's WhatsApp instead of a form, plus domain and hosting.

iPets · our own product · in beta. A virtual-pet wellness app with hand-drawn pets and rooms, all original art, in English and 中文. The pet chats and remembers you, its mood follows meals, walks and calendar, and a back end runs daily workers and pushes for beta testers.

A prediction-markets platform for a client under NDA · live on a testnet. Markets for sports, esports and events, with a creator program and rewards. We built order books, real-time match feeds, a live price ticker, a referral program and an English and Korean interface.

Before the studio

From 2016 to 2021, before CodaMinds, Steven worked as a freelancer, an engineer and a founder. The projects from those years on the home page are AnyPay, LeanNFC, Appletea, e-TAX, Hola Solution CMS, Premier Channel, MajuKL360, Realink, RealLock, Ez4U, UCheckIn and Dobi Connect. They were freelance work, roles at other companies and his own early ventures. They are shown to explain where the experience comes from. They are not CodaMinds client projects.
